BitChat TestFlight Status: App Store or Beta?

Current status: You do not need TestFlight to install the public iOS release. BitChat is available from its Apple App Store listing.
Older guides described TestFlight as the only iOS installation path. That is no longer accurate. TestFlight is Apple’s beta-distribution system; the App Store is the normal public-distribution path.
Which option should you choose?

For most people, the App Store build is the appropriate choice. Beta builds can expire, fill their tester quota, change more frequently, and contain unfinished behavior.
How to verify an iOS listing
Before installing, check these details:

- The version and minimum iOS requirement match Apple’s current listing.
- Release notes can be compared with the official GitHub releases.

If you specifically want TestFlight
Only follow an invitation currently published through the official project’s website or repository. Do not treat an old blog link, screenshot, repost, or search result as proof that an invitation remains valid. TestFlight links can expire or stop accepting testers without notice.
If a beta is full or unavailable, use the public App Store version. This independent site does not issue invitations, manage a waitlist, or know when a tester slot will reopen.
TestFlight vs App Store
App Store builds are public releases delivered through Apple’s standard update channel. TestFlight builds are time-limited beta builds intended for testing and feedback. A beta version number may be ahead of the public version without being the best choice for everyday use.
Whichever channel you choose, review the project’s current security notice and release notes before sensitive use. Distribution through Apple does not by itself constitute a security audit.
